The Berlin book table is known as Association and cooperative is organised and managed by a board of directors elected from among the staff. We are a founding member of the Working Group School Libraries Berlin and Brandenburg and member of the Federal Association for the Promotion of Reading e.V. We have two shops in Kreuzberg and Neukölln and every child gets a book as a gift when they visit one of our shops.
What else we do:
*** We donate books to associations, daycare centres, neighbourhood centres, cultural institutions and many more.
*** We support school libraries through book donations.
*** We pack book cases for school and kindergarten children and let them roll from child to child.
*** We sell donated media at socially acceptable prices.
*** We are involved in the promotion of reading and in the cultural sector.
*** We distribute books free of charge in Berlin and Brandenburg.
*** We find a new home for books.
*** We work across generations and in an inclusive way.
*** We offer opportunities to try out and participate.
