Many guests already know us from the restaurant of the same name, which we ran in Mommsenstraße in Charlottenburg. The "Tegernseer Tönnchen" there was so popular for decades that it was temporarily extended to include the "Tegernseer Faß`l". Such was the popularity of the guests who appreciated the combination of Bavarian and Berlin hospitality with hearty cuisine and popular prices. Unfortunately, the premises there then passed into the ownership of a community of heirs. They had nothing more urgent to do than to triple the rent.
Under these conditions, popular prices would have been unthinkable. That's why we said goodbye to Mommsenstrasse 34.
After all, we "owned" the name of the restaurant and the concept had proved its worth. Old friends came back and new friends joined us. However, the community of heirs waited a long time for a tenant who fulfilled their expectations.....
If you feel at home with us, we will of course be delighted. But we are also grateful if you contact us with criticism and suggestions. If you have to wait a little longer for your order, please bear in mind that we still make things by hand here and don't serve fast food.
There is room in even the smallest hut, and our hut is not that small. That's why we also cater for parties. Talk to us if you are planning an event that fits into the framework.
