The Berlin Book Table is a Association and cooperative and is managed by a board team elected from among the employees. We are a founding member of the Berlin and Brandenburg School Libraries Working Group and member of the Bundesverband Leseförderung e.V. We have two stores in Kreuzberg and Neukölln and every child receives a book as a gift when they visit one of our stores.
What else we do:
*** We donate books to clubs, daycare centers, neighborhood centers, cultural institutions and many more.
*** We support school libraries by donating books.
*** We pack book cases for school and kindergarten children and roll them from child to child.
*** We sell donated media at socially acceptable prices.
*** We are involved in promoting reading and in the cultural sector.
*** We distribute books free of charge in Berlin and Brandenburg.
*** We find new homes for books.
*** We work intergenerationally and inclusively.
*** We offer opportunities to try out and participate.
